Njambi McGrath

 

Since making her debut on the London circuit in 2010, Njambi has been working hard at establishing herself on the UK & International circuit. Originally from Kenya but now living in London, Njambi has become a familiar face on the circuit and at comedy festivals across the UK. Racking up an impressive 5 solo hour shows at the Edinburgh Festival her most recent Breaking Black was picked up by Next Up Comedy, Amazon & Apple and released as her debut comedy special.

Njambi is also becoming a familiar face on TV having appeared on STV during the Edinburgh Fringe, Sky & ITV News, French TV, Bloomberg Africa TV & Nigerian TV, on top of that Njambi starred in the BBC New Year International Comedy Celebration which was aired on I-player and BBC World Service.

The winner of the prestigious Hackney Empire New Act of the Year (NATYS) 2019, she has also filmed four comedy Specials available on NextUp, Amazon and Apple and is the author of Through The Leopard’s Gaze which was published in 2019.

Since her debut in 2010, she was voted 1 of 5 top female comedians to watch by Fabulous Magazine 2012 and was shortlisted for the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards a year later. She has appeared on BBC World New Years Comedy, BBC Radio 4 Extra, Saturday Live, and the BBC World Service.

She has reached the finals of many comedy competitions and was nominated Best Newcomer at the Black Comedy Awards 2012.
